Service Agreement and Privacy Policy

For the purposes of this document, the terms Client, Pet Owner and Customer are synonymous with the person contracting services for one or more domestic animals.

Promises

Ruff Life Pet Care promises to provide agreed upon services in a manner that is trustworthy, caring and dependable. We promise to always consider the health and safety or your pet(s) first and foremost. We understand that your pet(s) are members of your family, and your home is your most prized possession. We take precaution and care to treat all as our own. We promise to hold your personal information secure. We promise to carry liability insurance for services provided. We promise to communicate any behavioral, medical or property issues to you (or your provided emergency contact) in a timely fashion.

Payments

Client payments accepted include cash, check, and electronic credit or bank payments. Your electronic payment information is provided directly to our third-party processors whose use of your information is governed by their Privacy Policies here: Paypal (https://www.paypal.com/webapps/mpp/ua/privacy-full) and Braintree (https://www.braintreepayments.com/legal/braintree-privacy-policy). These payment processors adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of payment information.

Ruff Life Pet Care does not store your card or payment information.

Payment in full is due by end of service date agreed upon by both parties (client and Ruff Life Pet Care), or other date previously agreed upon by both parties.

A returned check fee of $15 will apply to any check that does not deposit. A late fee of $15 will be added to any unpaid service after 14 days, and subsequently another $15 every 14 day period after that.

Unpaid services and any late fees accrued must be paid before future bookings.

Cancellation Policy

0-48 hours prior to any service, payment in half charged to client. Emergencies considered on case by case basis.

Holidays

Holidays are as follows: New Year's Eve and New Year Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day

We reserve the right to charge a holiday fee up to $10 per day.

Scheduling

Scheduling for services is done through the Scout website or app. Reservations are treated by a first come, first serve basis. We do our best to accommodate last minute overnight stay requests.

Last minute charges not exceeding $10 per day may apply to any request made for service within 12 hours.

A Meet and Greet must be held prior to start date of service for any new clients.

Hours of service windows for walks/visits: 8 am - 10 am, 10 am - 12 pm, 12 pm - 2 pm, 2 pm - 4 pm, 4 pm - 6 pm, 6 pm - 8 pm. Any requests for a walk or visit outside of this time frame that is not medically necessary may occur a charge up to $5 per visit.

Hours of service for overnight stay: 8 pm - 8 am the following morning, with a lunch visit 12 pm - 2 pm. Adjustments may be made on holidays or other busier times of the year.

Severe Weather

Our priority is the safety of client's pet(s), home(s) and the safety of our sitters. Shorter walks/outside time may be given in extreme heat (95* and up) or extreme cold (40* and lower).

If severe weather (i.e. hurricane, tornado, hail, etc.) is present, services will be tailored to best keep every party safe. This may include no services given due to hazardous driving or outdoor conditions. Our sitters are instructed to follow guidelines of the National Weather Service. We request our clients provide specific instructions for severe weather conditions and it is strongly suggested that arrangements are made with someone to evacuate your pets in case of a disaster or critical weather related event. Ruff Life Pet Care will do their best to see to your pet(s) safety and care should such events occur, but no guarantees can be made.

Privacy and Keys

Ruff Life Pet Care warrants to keep secure and confidential any keys, access codes, remote control entry devices and personal information of the owner. We use your personal information to only provide and improve our services, or in the event of a situation at the property where your name, phone number and address is required to be disclosed to law enforcement or emergency services. Your email may be used for newsletter, promotional or marketing purposes. You may opt out of any email we send by using the Unsubscribe button or instructions provided in the email, or by contacting us at: petcarebykale@gmail.com. Any social media picture posts approved by owner will not include the address or any other distinctions of the owner's property.

Liability Release

Ruff Life Pet Care works hard to follow given instructions as precisely as possible. Client is responsible for providing all items needed for pet sitter during their service dates (i.e. medications, food, etc.). Pet Owner is responsible for pet-proofing their home and yard, including security fences/gates/latches, etc. Client agrees to hold harmless and defend Ruff Life Pet Care in the event of a claim by any person injured by the pet.

Ruff Life Pet Care may use their discretion to stop and end service at any time if a pet poses a danger to the safety or health of itself, other pets, other people or to the pet sitter.

Ruff Life Pet Care is not responsible for damage to a client's home beyond the control of the assigned pet sitter. This includes but is not limited to leaks, electrical problems, and acts of nature. In these situations, we will attempt to contact the client, and then the emergency contact person provided.

Client agrees to secure home prior to leaving the premises. Clients will notify the sitter of any other person who is granted access to the property during the designated service period. Ruff Life Pet Care accepts no responsibility for any breach of security or loss/damage to the property if other individuals have access to a client's home, or if the home is not properly secured.

Ruff Life Pet Care will not be held responsible for the safety of any pets that have unsupervised access to the outdoors (i.e. dog with access to doggy door, cats with outdoor access, etc.).

Pet Owner is responsible for all medical expenses and damages resulting from an injury to a sitter, or other persons, by the pet.

Veterinary Release

Sitters with Ruff Life Pet Care are trained to identify a pet medical emergency. In the event of an emergency, the sitter will attempt to contact the owner but is authorized to seek veterinary assistance needed, at owner's cost. Pet Owner will provide preferred Veterinarian information. Ruff Life Pet Care is released from liability related to transporting pets to and from any veterinary hospital and/or kennel.

Complaints and Concerns

Client agrees to discuss any concerns with Ruff Life Pet Care within 24 hours of return after service.
